What this machine is for
The Volvo ECR235 is a 23 tonne short-swing crawler excavator. The counterweight stays within a 1,810 mm tail swing radius, so the machine can turn a full circle in places where a conventional 23 tonner simply will not fit — tight to boundary walls, alongside live buildings, and on roadside and urban works where half the site is still in use.
Nothing is given up in return. It digs to nearly 10 metres of reach and 6.75 metres of depth, puts 125 kN of breakout force through the bucket, and lifts 7,790 kg along the undercarriage at 6 metres. That combination is what makes it the machine of choice for bulk muck shift on constrained sites and for feeding demolition works.
It is hired with an experienced operator as standard. Delivery, positioning and the day's method are agreed with you before the machine leaves the yard.
